Who are you?

YC/DC? are five huge AC/DC fans from the South Manchester area. Most of the members are old school friends who grew up listening to 'DC, eagerly anticipating the next album release...

All talented musicians, we've come together to provide the energy of the young 'DC in their early days complete with a stripped down, back to basics gig format. We hope you enjoy the show!

Why doesn't 'Angus' wear shorts?

Angus himself started wearing the schoolboy outfit at the suggestion of his sister, during a period when 'DC were looking for a stage 'gimmick' to make them memorable to the audience.

YC/DC? are focused on the music and aim to be the best 'tribute' (in the wider sense) to 'DC that they can be. So there are no gimmicks, no cannons, and no inflatables - we just rock!

How can I buy a YC/DC? t-shirt?

Please speak to one of us at a gig, and better still drop us an email before hand so we can bring the right size for you. At £6, they're a bargain!

What's with the toy dog I've seen on stage with you?

That's our mascot. The "Rock 'n' Roll Dalmation"...

What gear does 'Angus' / 'Malcolm' use?

Angus (Dave)

Dave has bat ears and is particularly picky about his guitar tone, so most of his gear is modified in some way (or custom built to his spec). He uses:

* Epiphone '65 reissue SG with Maestro Vibrola, modified with "Riff Raff" pickups by Bare Knuckle Pickups, CTS pots, some old capacitors, a TonePros bridge and a Tusq nut
* Martamp JTM45/100 custom built amp head
* Martamp 4x12 cabinet fitted with Celestion Vintage 30 and G12H Heritage speakers
* Sennheiser Freeport wireless system
* ClearTone cables, Jim Dunlop Jazz III plectrums

For backups, Dave has:

* Laney Klipp head, heavily modified to a Marshall Super Lead based circuit with a switchable extra gain stage

* Various humbucker equipped guitars!

Malcolm (Jon)

Jon's a simple guy when it comes to gear, and his is all stock:

* Gretsch G6131MYF Malcolm Young Signature
* Marshall DSL50 amp head
* Marshall 1936 2x12 cabinet
* Whatever plectrums and cables he can get his hands on!

For backup, Jon has a Yamaha SG800S
