"YC/DC were a fitting finale to great night. I had
heard they were going to be good but I was blown away by the bands
ability to conjure up the raw sound of late 70's 'DC. The visceral
energy that emanated from the stage was clearly reflected in the crowd's
reaction. Everyone got into a Bad Boy Boogie dance stance that built
into a rapturous Rosie climax. Listening to those recordings back in the
day, AC/DC were the outfit to see, a band who could from an explosive
beginning take you to supernova heights. YC/DC managed to emulate that
in their performance! This was 'DC raw and edgy which took the crowd on
a journey of rock and roll which I've always believed paralleled the
early punk sound in it's attitude and mood. The most important aspect of
any band performing 'DC is keeping it tight, and YC/DC were tighter than
a fat girl's knickers, with the band members clearly enjoying
performing. Jon Roy, Paul Feely and Si Campion powered the night through
and Dave Jackson was pretty damn spot on note for note while Matt Wolff
was born to be barrel-chested front man Bon. He exuded the sweat and
charisma that Bon Scott brought to the stage. They put in a
great performance making sure that vital tightness, essential to the
DC sound, was present throughout the gig. "
"The Bakers was heaving with 'DC fans hungry for some Rock 'n' Roll on a
rainy Saturday night, and YC/DC didn't disappoint them. From the opening
bars of "Bad Boy Boogie" it was obvious that these guys meant business.
The band were on fire and within minutes the whole pub was rockin'. All
the Bon Scott classics were present - including my personal favourite,
"Riff Raff". Some of the older regulars were complaining that the
band were too loud, but this was the music of AC/DC, not some crusty
jazz quintet, and Rock 'n' Roll is best served LOUD!! Rumour has it that
YC/DC will return to The Bakers soon. Be there."
